Crochet Mini Heart Pot Free Pattern + Beginner Friendly Tutorial

Hi everyone! I’m sharing the free pattern for my Heart Pot, and the full tutorial is available on my YouTube channel. This is a mini written pattern of the YouTube version. The tutorial already shows a mini-sized pot, and this pattern is even smaller than the one in the video.

Crochet heart pot tutorial

Materials

3-ply cotton yarn,

2.5 mm crochet hook,

1.5–2 mm wire,

and other basic tools.


Round 1:

Make a magic ring.

Chain 1 and work 6 single crochets into the ring.

Round 2:

Increase in every stitch.

Make 2 single crochets in each stitch (12 stitches).

Slip stitch and chain 1.

Round 3:

1 single crochet, 1 increase.

Repeat around (18 stitches).

Slip stitch and chain 1.

Round 4:

2 single crochets, 1 increase.

Repeat around (24 stitches).

Slip stitch and chain 1.

If you want, you can stop here and continue working from Round 6. You will have 24 stitches after Round 4.


The remaining rounds will be the same as Round 6 onwards. 
However, I added one extra increase round here to make the base wider.

Round 5:

3 single crochets, 1 increase.

Repeat around (30 stitches).

Slip stitch and chain 1.

Pot base is ready.

Round 6:

Work in back loops only.

1 single crochet in each stitch (30).

Slip stitch and chain 1.

Rounds 7 - 13 or 7 to 12

1 single crochet in each stitch.

Slip stitch and chain 1 after every round.

Keep 30 stitches.


Round 14:

Front loops only.

Make 1 half double crochet in each stitch (30).

Slip stitch, chain 1, and fasten off.


Sand Part

Make 5 rounds of 30 single crochets.

Leave a long tail for sewing.

Insert a round card inside the pot for a sturdy base.

Place it neatly inside.

Join sand part to the pot.

Sew under the bumps and through the stitches.

Halfway, add fiber fill, then continue sewing.


Heart (Part 1 & 2)

Magic ring, 6 single crochets.

Round 2: Increase in every stitch (12).

Round 3: 1 single crochet, 1 increase (18).

Rounds 4 - 5: 1 single crochet in each stitch.

Cut yarn for first piece. (18)

Make second piece the same, do not cut yarn.

Join both pieces together.

Round 6:

Work 1 single crochet around both parts (36 stitches).

Skip 2 stitches between pieces as shown. Overall Skip 4 stitches. Which means skip 2 stitches from each side.

Close the gap by sewing neatly.

At the end of this round you will get 32 Stitches.

Make invisible decrease all.

Round 7: 6 sc, 2 invisible decreases, 12 sc, 2 dec, 6 sc (28)

Round 8: 5 sc, 2 dec, 10 sc, 2 dec, 5 sc (24)

Round 9: 4 sc, 2 dec, 8 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc (20)

Round 10: 3 sc, 2 dec, 6 sc, 2 dec, 3 sc (16)

Round 11: 2 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc (12)

Round 12: 1 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc, 2 dec, 1 sc (8)

Round 13: Make invisible decrease in all the stitches.

Make a slip stitch in the first stitch and cut the yarn. Leave a long tail to sew.

Leaf

6 chains. Hold the 0.5 mm wire along withthe chains.

Sl st in the second chain from the hook. Sc, hdc (2 hdc, 1 dc, 2 hdc) | hdc, sc, sl st.

Slip stitch in the first stitch, chain 1. Cut the yarn. Wrap the yarn tail around the wire and secure it.

Assemble all the parts. Use the video as a reference.
